The coat has shoulder pads, four pockets with bias cut flaps, deep sleeve cuffs and a straight cut to work with the linear plaid. It is lined in slate crepe. The suit jacket is fitted with matching pocket flaps and shoulder pads and is also lined in slate crepe. The straight gored skirt has a front kick pleat and side metal zipper.

1950s Vintage Davidow Wool Suit in Brown Tweed SZ S

Another one from my personal stash. This suit is a Davidow in brown wool tweed. With matching belt. The jacket has a button front in the patented Davidow system, meaning it’s not lined along the button section for less bulk on the front of the body. The jacket hem has small curved vents at the side fronts and back darts. The front has two standing welt breast pockets and a Peter pan collar. The Ύ sleeves end in button vents. The skirt is straight with a side metal zipper. The narrow belt is covered to match, the jacket lining is crepe de chine as is the partial skirt lining. Side metal zipper on the skirt.

Pretty tailoring on this one. Simple, but it has a great line with the slightly blouson back. The jacket has a 4 button front - covered button with bound buttonholes, of course - three quarter sleeves and wide lapels. And it’s lined in crepe, too. The straight skirt has a moderate sweep for walking plus a side metal zipper. The fabric is a fine shantung in silk.
