1940s Black Wool and Faille Double Breasted Vintage Tuxedo SZ 42
This stylish men’s tuxedo for the 1940s is a deep black wool in a long line double breasted cut. The peaked faille lapels coordinate with the grosgrain brain on the trousers. The jacket has a back vent, while the pants have pleats, suspender buttons, a watch pocket and a metal zipper. This tuxedo suit has several labels, including drycleaner tags for a Col. J. Baker. Rogers Peet and o. opened in Manhattan in 1874, eventually with stores in Boston, Hartford and New Jersey. The last stores closed by the mid-1980s. Both Cole Porter ("Hitchy-Koo Of 1919”) and Frank Loesser ( Guys and Dolls) used the store name in their song lyrics.

The label (it's a Sears brand) indicates this is a boy's shirt. If so it's a at least a teenage boy. It is shown on a man's display form. The fabric is a cotton flannel, with red and blue plaid fronts, white buttons, and contrast navy sleeves, shirt back and collar.

Label: Boyville Sanforized

Size: Chest: 40", Shoulders: 18", Sleeves: 24", Neck: 15.5" CB Neck to Hem: 26".

Condition: Washed and ready to wear. No holes or stains.

Dated 1960s Vintage Black Menís Tuxedo Suit in Dacron SZ 42/44

It is always a treat to find a dated label in any vintage piece. This black Dacron polyester 2-piece tux is dated Nov. 1, 1963. It's a black 2-piece tuxedo suit with a narrow lapel silk satin shawl collar. 2 flap pockets and a ventless back. The trousers have a flat front. Suspender buttons, belt loops, metal zipper and satin outseam trim. Now the way the label reads, this may be a blend of Dacron and wool ñ it feels like it may be. The tie, cummerbund and shirt are not included.

Labels: ACWA Union Label, M.L. French & Son 196 Exchange St, Bangor Me., This fabric contains Dacron Polyester Dry clean only Use cool iron, and the initials S.M.

Vintage 1950s Turquoise Blue Menís Rayon Bowling Shirt SZ L

Love these shirts. I used to wear them myself to work. This is Ben's bowling shirt in a vibrant turquoise, with flap pockets and a loop button neckline. Ben bowled for the Pat's Andover Lighthouse team. All in white and navy blue chain stitch, of course.

Label : The Master Bowler Ligonier, Ind. Fully Washable

Size: Labeled a 16. Chest: 49", Shoulders: 19", Sleeves: 8", CB Neck to Hem: 30.75". Neck: 16.25".
